a more equitable workplace.
Statement of Support
We believe it is vital to measure diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) to create workplaces where everyone can reach their full potential.
We join the undersigned to support the use of the following key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure gender and diversity in the workforce:
- The percentage of representation on an organization’s board.
- The percentage of representation by employee category.
- Pay equality: the ratio of compensation by employee category (e.g. equal pay for equal work).
These KPIs measure gender and underrepresented groups where applicable (e.g., this would mean race and ethnicity in the United States).
We agree to use the KPIs with consistent employment categories and including full compensation. If this analysis is not in place today, we will work for the speedy adoption of the KPIs in our organization.
Measurement helps drive change, and the right standards are critical. Using these KPIs gives us a starting point to understand an organization’s baseline and where there may be issues that need to be addressed. The KPIs focus on the representation and pay equality of women and underrepresented groups through an organization’s pipeline, which are vital measures of progress. We believe the KPIs provide a common language for measuring diversity. These clear, consistent indicators can help pinpoint areas of focus that are critical to maximizing the potential of a company’s entire workforce.
